Merry Christmas Film Story
she lives as a woman in an unhappy marriage and a man with a mysterious past turns upside down on Christmas Eve.
In Merry Christmas, Sriram Raghavan takes his own sweet time to tell the story of a woman in an unhappy marriage and a man with a mysterious past, while ensuring that his characters have enough time to breathe, talk and even walk. around City.
Of course, comparisons between Merry Christmas and Sriram’s last directorial venture, Andhadhun, are inevitable. But if the first half of Andhadhun was one hell of a ride with a monumental interval block, Merry Christmas decided to unleash its inner demon for a long time in the second half. Do all the reasons come together at the end of the film and the why of it all? Maybe not. But it definitely keeps you glued to the screen the whole time, even at the intersections where you have absolutely no idea what’s going on.
Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif’s pairing has already been talked to death, but after watching the film, it makes sense why everyone was looking forward to watching this pair on screen. Vijay has a sense of delicacy and immediacy that contrasts directly with the precise and sophisticated Katrina. But both actors exude a subtle aura that works well together.
As Vijay and Katrina are good in their roles, Ashwini Kalsekar and Shanmugarajan get the best lines that will leave you in splits. Both of their characters can be added to the list of side characters that deserve their own spinoff.
In a scene in the movie, one character tells another that there is no point in watching a movie without popcorn. Likewise, there is no point in watching a Sriram Raghavan film without expecting sporadic flashbacks, movie references, completely alien characters and an edge-of-the-seat experience. All this also applies to Merry Christmas, but in a quieter and lighter spirit.
